Programs & Services Updates

A Message to the GW Community & Our Partners

Following university guidelines, effective Monday March 16, 2020, the staff of the GW Center for Career Services will be available to you exclusively via phone and email during regular operating hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm). Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our community and we are committed to supporting you during this time.

Please see below for ways to continue to connect with us, and, as always, check Handshake, or reach out to us directly at [email protected] or 202.994.6495.

Student Employment

For student employment issues or concerns, please contact our Student Employment team at [email protected] or 202.994.8046.

Virtual Coaching Appointments

  • Career Coaching Appointments: Virtual appointments are available via Handshake. Sign up as usual (click ‘Career Center,’ then ‘Appointments’, 'Schedule an Appointment') Under Appointment Medium, select Video Call/Virtual and a coach will be in touch with you to set up the virtual meeting.
  • Existing Appointments: If you have already scheduled an appointment with us please review your emails for previously scheduled appointments.

Employer Events & Interviews

  • Events:  We have been reaching out to employers who scheduled on-campus events and will update Handshake events listings on a frequent basis.  Some employers will choose to switch to a virtual format while others may opt to cancel. Tthere could be many changes on this front, so please continue to check Handshake for the latest updates.
  • On Campus Interviews: If you have an on-campus interview scheduled through Handshake, your interview slot will remain the same (unless you hear otherwise from the employer). You will participate in the interview virtually and will receive instructions on how to connect at your specified time.
  • Other Interviews: If you have an interview already scheduled, please reach out directly to the employer to ask about any changes to their process.
For employer-related issues or concerns, please contact our Employer Relations team at [email protected] or 202.994.8633.

On behalf of the Center for Career Services staff, I wish you the best and ask that you take good care of yourselves. Please let us know if we can assist you.
