Thank you for your interest in requesting a special program from the Center for Career Services. We look forward to working with you to enhance the career development of GW students through your class, department, organization or group. Our programs can be customized to meet the specific needs of your group or class. 

Types of Programs & Workshops

Available program & workshop topics include informational, career exploration and core skills, and industry-specific.  Please review the information below for more details on each of these topic areas.

Submit a request

To schedule a workshop or program for your group, please submit a short request form. .Please note the following regarding program requests:

  • We ask for a minimum attendance of at least 10 participants for the program.
  • A staff member will contact you within 72 hours after the form is submitted. Please allow at least two weeks (10 business days) prior to your event date to process this request.

Program Topic Areas

Informational Programs

Suggested length: 15-30 minutes

Suited for: Undergraduates

This program features a description of how students can develop their personalized Career Success Plan, and provides information on the resources, services and opportunities available to students through the Center.

Career Exploration & Core Skills Programs

Suggested length: 30-75 minutes

Suited for: First-year Students and Sophomores

Industry-Specific Programs

Suggested length: 30-50 minutes

Suited for: Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students

Examples of our Industry Specific Programs include:

  • Industry-Specific Resume/CVs (e.g., consulting and finance, art and design, IT, higher education, pre-med, etc.)
  • Behavioral and Case Interview Preparation
  • Decision Making and Negotiation Skills
  • Employer and Alumni Panels/Networking Events
  • Optimize Communication in Group or Work settings using MBTI
  • Building Better Executive Teams (MBTI and Team Dynamics)
  • Building Strengths-Based Leadership and Teambuilding Skills
  • Propose your own program: Professional Skills Workshops (e.g., Working in Teams, Persuading Others, Public Speaking, Leadership, etc.)
