Student Eligibility
It is the student's responsibility to review and ensure they meet all eligibility requirements. Funding is dependent on students meeting all requirements and funding will not be distributed if a student is found ineligible at any time during the funding semester.
Student Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled at GW (full-time or part-time) in a degree-granting program during both the application period and internship period.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of:
- 2.5 for undergraduate students
- 3.0 for graduate students
- Have never previously received a KACIF award (Students may receive KACIF funding only once during their academic career at GW).
- Be eligible based on class standing:
- First-year undergraduates may apply only for funding for the summer following their first academic year.
- Graduate students in their first semester may apply for subsequent semesters after they begin their degree program.
- International students may apply if they meet all other eligibility requirements and understand any tax implications associated with the award.
Ineligible Students
Based on the above requirements, the following students are not eligible:
- Exchange students.
- Non-degree students.
- Previous KACIF recipients.
- Students who do not meet the GPA requirements.
- First-year undergraduates applying before completing their first academic year.
- Incoming graduate students who have not yet begun their GW degree program.
- Students applying for a semester that occurs after they graduate.
