Professional Praxis encourages students to make the most of their off-campus career-related job or internship opportunities through self-reflection and analysis of their professional growth. Students will receive transcript documentation in the form of a 0 credit Pass / No Pass course for each semester they participate in the program. Please see the Student Checklist and Guide (PDF) for information regarding eligibility and how to apply.
Professional Praxis serves as the “appropriate curricular course” to which you must apply and from which you must receive "proof of enrollment in the appropriate curricular course" before applying for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), for students in CCAS undergraduate and graduate, SEAS undergraduate, and ESIA undergraduate programs. International students from all schools other than those ones listed above should contact their school-specific career center to ask about similar opportunities.
Important Dates and Deadlines
Please note, even in the case that a student's internship spans multiple semesters, this course must be applied for one semester at a time.
|Semester||Application Open||Application Deadline||Final Packet Due Date|
*Winter Break and Spring are grouped under a single course session. If a student is pursuing a job or internship that only takes place during the Winter Break and is not pursuing a job or internship in the Spring, it is suggested that the student submit their final packet as soon as the Winter Break internship is over, to avoid forgetting it.
Dropping the Course
Students may only drop the Professional Praxis course if the student never received CPT authorization and/or did not participate in an internship for any length of time. If these criteria are met, a student may send an email to [email protected] requesting to be dropped from the course.
