Heather Scherschel
Heather Scherschel serves as the Career Development Manager for the Milken Institute School of Public Health as a member of the Center for Career Service’s (CCS) Career Academic Partnerships (CAP) unit. She has over a decade of experience in higher education, both in career services and undergraduate instruction.
Prior to joining GW, Heather served as an Associate Director of Career and Professional Development at Washington and Lee University, where she collaborated with faculty to design and lead career readiness initiatives in the classroom, cultivated alumni and employer relationships, and advised students with a focus on helping them identify and connect their values and interests to professional goals. Before transitioning into career services, Heather held several faculty roles, most recently at Indiana University, within psychological science departments.
Heather holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their fluff balls—a Keeshond, Great Pyrenees, and extra-large orange tabby.
