Marva Gumbs Jennings (she/her) is the Director, Career Academic Partnerships for the Center for Career Services and is responsible for implementing this new unit and managing a staff of four, distributed in the school with a co-supervisor counterpart in each of the schools. With over 35 plus years of experience in career services, Marva's current portfolio includes the implementation of the new CAP unit, the management of the Sierra Club Summer Fellowship program, liaison for students with disabilities and veteran & military students, and as provider of career coaching for seasoned GW Alumni (over three years post-graduation).

Prior to this position, Marva served as Assistant Director, Director of Career Services, Executive Director and Managing Director for the Center. She has also held leadership roles with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and was the first President of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE). Marva looks for creative opportunities for students and employers to meet and learn from each other and is passionate about helping students and alumni figure out the career direction and a strategy that works best for each individual.
